Zupo’s SEO Roots in Orange County

Born and raised in Anaheim, Zupo’s CEO Jason Khoo has always been an Orange County man at heart. While studying at California State University, Fullerton, he started his first freelance business from the ground up, going door-to-door to local businesses in the area and asking if they would take a chance. 

Freelancing 

As a freelancer, Jason understands the power of taking initiative. Back in the earliest years of running his business, he marketed his SEO, social media marketing and graphic design services to every client where he saw potential. Going above and beyond, he had a hand in coordinating the broader marketing plans for businesses by designing print collateral and campaigns, effectively creating results as a digital marketing agency while still a one-man operation.

Finding his foothold as an effective SEO freelancer, he turned his attention towards establishing his business as a trusted marketing agency.

First Company

From his freelancing roots, Jason founded his first agency, Ron Wave Design, which later became the Local SEO-focused Search Business Group. Working with each business to design an optimal marketing strategy, his agency focused on helping small businesses rank as #1 in their city. Back then, clientele ranged from dentists, orthodontists, pediatric dentists, and veterinarians. Applying tried and true methods for creating winning SEO, Search Business created demonstrable improvements in each client’s digital presence in Fullerton and the greater Orange County area. 

Zupo

After selling his company, Jason founded Zupo in May 2019, and it continues to operate out of Orange County in Costa Mesa. Zupo’s team not only continues to work with clients in personalized, effective digital marketing campaigns, but also champions future startups through enthusiastic outreach work in the surrounding community. 

Zupo is actively involved in the Orange County area, being comprised of members the sit on the board of the American Advertising Federation Orange County, as well as volunteering with Forge 54, a local non-profit that commits 54 hours of one weekend to design a marketing campaign for another non-profit. Many are also CSUF Startup Incubator Speakers and Mentors, helping entrepreneurs learn valuable skills in earning capital for launching their businesses. Zupo values giving back to the community that fostered the same freelancing, entrepreneurial thinking that led to its inception. 

Zupo’s new roster of clients includes 2 of the leading advertising groups in the Orange County area, including Vincit California and Sparkhouse. Vincit California is the newest software development company in Irvine, working with Zupo to grow its reach in the United States; Sparkhouse is the largest video production group based in Orange County, and Zupo is helping them maintain their position as an industry leader in the local market. 

Continuing the same attitude towards marketing and SEO that propelled his beginnings as a freelancer, Zupo’s team prides itself on creating solutions that keep clients on the right track towards success.
